Stumpedia Search Engine Update
By Kimberly Bock | March 3, 2008
I visited the Stumpedia forum this morning.
There are still only 5 members other than Admin. There seems to be no shortage of interest in the actual submitters to the Stumpedia search engine, but there are no members in the forum to suggest possible concerns about it’s use. If we are to see improvement with it’s processes we’ll need to get more involved (as your time will allow)
This said, I am somewhat disappointed by Admins post reply in the forum.
A forum member had inappropriately tagged a submission and wanted to know how to remove the tag once they noticed the mistake.
Admins reply was that they would figure out how to handle it and respond through a later release.
No release has been issued yet.
This is from Feb 29th, so it seems they would have addressed it by now. Maybe my expectations are too high?

Hello SpostareDuro,
In response to your concern, the web site was designed so that the community is in control of the data. If Stumpedia admins were to manually fix, correct, or edit any submissions, then the democracy of the web site is lost. We definitely need the community’s input and feedback.
Thanks,

Luis: Thanks for the response.
I am concerned with the fact that there’s no way for us to correct our own mistakes once we’ve made a submission.
If it were really in our hands, you’d think that we would have more editing control.

Kimberly: I certainly agree that we need an editing process for mistakes. What that process is or should be I’m not sure yet, but the stumpedia forum is definitely available for any suggestions/recommendations.

I will certainly try to encourage help in that department if at all possible. Thanks again Luis.
