Learn SEO Copywriting: mmm Make Love to Me
By Kimberly Bock | February 17, 2008
Not SEO related ?
Bear with me…
It does lead to a climax…
You have been tempted..
My sweet wanderer..
Searching for all I am..
Not knowing where to find me..
Suddenly, as if by mistake, you whispered my name..
Soft and wanting..
Begging for what I have to offer..
Seeing in me what you were hoping I hold..
Inside..
All of what you seek..
I present to you..
All of what you desire..
I hold within my willing sensuality..
You see me and are stimulated..
Curiosity has placed you in the palm of my hand..
To fondle your mind..
Message your sensitivity..
Fill your senses..
Your eyes find me appealing..
As you gaze upon my skin..
You have been looking for me..
For this..
For us..
You are excited by what you see in me..
I am thrilled by your yearning..
Come..
Follow my lead..
Follow me into ectasy..
Let me accommodate you..
mmm..
Let me give you what you want..
Your wish is my command..
Here I am baby..
Take me and I will please..
mmm..
Over and over again..
You quiver with discarded inhibitions..
Don’t stop..
When the moment has gone..
I am here..
Yearning for you..
Softly..
Quietly..
For your return my love..
For I will always seek to please you..
My door is always open to you..
Return to me..
My Point?
If you’ll reread the red italicized words and phrases, you’ll notice that there was a progression to them..
A flow..
That flow of content contained structure..allowing you to want more of what I offered (At least I hope so, or that would mean I am a victim of onanism..bummer)
I used other words in between, as ‘filler’ (no, ‘filler’ was not on purpose..giggle)
This is what SEO copywriting is and does..
Our aim as SEO’s, webmasters, site owners and business persons is to make love to our target audience.
Tempting them. Romancing them to a suggested call-to-action. Also satisfying them, making them want to return over and over again. Faithfully and loyally.
When your target audience submits their query (search) they are likely to see thousands of other fish in the sea. (sea…inside joke-yet another post)
The average searcher does not venture beyond the first 2 or 3 SERP’s (search engine results pages) to find what they are looking for. So it is imperative that use strategy in your wording to maximize keyword density not neglecting your audience’s fulfillment. You are optimizing for both the search engines and potential audience conversion.
The ‘tempting‘ process is also the easiest. Like men, for example..
When the SERP’s show your page link, what is on display? Your title and brief description beneath it.
These can either turn people away or draw them in..
Once the temptation has got the best of them, they will enter…
Now they need to be stimulated by your content. Don’t just lure them in like a little tease, leaving them unsatisfied if you expect them to finger your pages. (giggle)
Keep their attention. Give your content a sense of direction and flow that will ultimately lead to mutual fulfillment.
Titillating them to your suggested call-to-action:
- Grabbing your RSS feed
- Commenting on your post
- Purchase of product
- Registering for survey
- Touching your oohooh (Slawski are you smiling? giggle)
Make them want to follow you.
Presentation equals temptation/curiosity
Alluring structured flow of copy progression
Irresistible suggested call-to-action (hey it got YOU this far didn’t it?)
Offer quality and satisfaction. Don’t make them regret ‘doing it‘ with you. It’ll shy them away which doesn’t only affect 1 visitor. Frequently when you are a tease, it is circulated around by word of mouth (WOM) into various other online communities therefore causing you to be left with your blank in your hand.
Make love to them and they will make love to you.
One more thing before I go..
I have to ask you something on a personal note..
Now that you and I have made love, will you still respect me in the morning?

HAHA… I think you just made love to your blog
I see the point though, how you highlighted in read anything that can be mistaken as a sexy keyword. Maybe I need to make my blog more sexy?

@Rob: I love writing so much that you may be right!
@Bud, I’m glad you weren’t offended by it. I was nervous about the reactions I may (or may not) get because of the tone..

Thanks Nick! I am still crossing my fingers to see if others agree with you here..
Although my intentions were to be stimulating, my goal was to expand on the pleasures and fulfillment of reaching your target market and ’sharing’ with them…not just using them for gain..
There are multiple types of personalities that may be reading this blog in hopes of gaining more insight to the basics..
Some people are poetic, passionate, and romantic at heart…
Why leave them out of the equation when they should also benefit?..

You have a way with making words dance around under your sensuous fingertips, Kim
Writing calls to action, creating tension, evoking emotions, making sentences flow; these are all things that bring words to life. Great post.

Aweome article — at first I thought it was one of those articles whose titles promised the world but delivered something else. I did scroll down faster to get to the end - so you succeeded in hooking me. Great Work. - abby

[...] Take books for example. Authors have been capturing the imagination of readers for centuries and this is done through vivid and captivating descriptions. A good author can describe how cold it is on a winters morning and as you read it you feel a slight shiver. They can describe the pungent smell of a rotting corpse so well that it almost makes you feel ill. Another example is a recent blog post by Kimberly from Learning SEO Basics - she had me rather hot under the collar with her article Learn SEO Copywriting: mmm Make Love to Me. [...]
